How To Make Sparkling Christmas Ornaments

Here is a Christmas craft idea that will show you how to make sparkling Christmas ornaments.

These ornaments are so beautiful and easy to make.

I used to like when my kids would come home from school at Christmas time and show me the beautiful ornaments they made at school.

It seemed that glitter was always used.

Lots of glitter.

Through the years, I would bring down the Christmas decorations from the attic.

Every year, less and less glitter would be on the ornaments, and more and more would be on everything else in the boxes.

For these ornaments in this project, we will be using glitter.

Yes, I said glitter.

But this time, the glitter will be on the inside of the ornaments, not the outside.

Supplies Needed

Heavy-duty clear glass balls with removable tops

Extra Fine Glitter Set, 32 Pack

Mop & Glo Floor Cleaner or another multi-purpose floor cleaner that contains wax

Paper towels

Small paper or plastic cups

A piece of paper, such as typing or notebook paper, to catch glitter

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Working with one glass ball at a time, take the top off. Be careful of the opening, which can be sharp.

Step 2: Pour Mop & Glo into a cup, filling it about half full. Next, take the cup and squeeze it a little to pour some into the glass ball. The opening is small, and using the cup is easier than trying to pour from the Mop & Glo bottle.

Step 3: Gently swish the liquid to completely coat the inside. Try not to create bubbles. Pour the excess back into the plastic cup. Set it upside down in another cup so it will drain. Let it dry for a few minutes.

Step 4: Repeat #3. This will give it two layers of floor cleaner.

Step 5: Now for the fun part. Yay glitter! Put a piece of paper down to catch any glitter. Take the ball and pour lots of glitter into it. Using a folded paper towel, cover the top and shake it up to coat the inside.

Step 6: After you have made sure that the inside of the ball is completely covered, pour out the excess glitter into a plastic cup. Pour the glitter back into the glitter bottle. Put the top back on the ornament and add a pretty ribbon. Beautiful and sparkling!

It is easy to do, the list of things needed is short, and the gorgeous outcome makes this a project I recommend to everyone.

This is perfect to do with a teenager or preteen. So grab one or more of your kids, nieces, nephews, or grandkids and get started making a really nice Christmas memory.
